Use music to drive familiarity
The key to using background music strategically is to use it consistently and in line with your brand's personality. Furthermore, background music that is consistent with a customer's perception of a brand increases sales and improves customer satisfaction.
For example, the restaurant chain Nando's plays Afro-Luso (a fusion of African and Lusophone) music in its restaurants, creating strong associations with its brand.
